Conditions of Entry

1. Applicants must be working full time in the nursery and garden industry sector.

2. Applicants must be 30 years of age or under as at 31st December 2024.

3. To enter the competition the application must be completed and posted or emailed to NZPPI to arrive by 27 April 2024.

4. Applicants must show evidence of completing three years practical work experience in the nursery and garden industry.

5. Applications will be reviewed to provide a short-list of finalists for the Young Plant Producer of the Year competition. Completion of an application does not guarantee entry into the competition.

6. Applicants must be available, if selected, to compete at the Young Plant Producer competition to be held at Lincoln University in July 2024 (dates tbc).

7. The Applicant agrees that if they win, they must be available to compete in the Young Horticulturist of the Year competition to be held in November 2024.

8. The judges’ decisions will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

9. All prizes are to be accepted as given and are not convertible to cash.

10. The winner will be expected to be available to give interviews to the media as required and be available to promote the competition where applicable.
